Welcome to my classroom!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Andy Oldenburg, and I’m so excited for what we have planned in Early Childhood Special Ed. this year! We plan to learn and grow a lot throughout the year. We plan to do this through many different ways like music and art, but we primarily plan to play. Children learn best through play. Plus, it’s fun!

My dream for this classroom is that all children feel welcomed and are valued for who they are. There are two assistants working alongside me in the classroom this year. Their names are Julie and Carly, both of whom are experienced and caring assistants. Please know that you are always welcome to visit our classroom to check in, participate, or simply to observe.

This is my sixth year as a lead teacher since finishing my Masters of Education program at the University of Minnesota. I have working been in the Minneapolis Public School District since 2012 working in ECSE classrooms.

When I’m not at school, I spend most of my time with my family. We enjoy being outside as much as possible by biking, swimming (when it’s actually warm enough), and hiking in the woods.

If you have any questions, please email me at andrew.oldenburg@mpls.k12.mn.us or call at 612.668.2270.

Let’s have a great year!
