Good afternoon Cityview families,
This message is to remind you that Cityview will be hosting CDF Freedom Schools this summer for students completing Kindergarten through 8th grade. Freedom Schools will run M-F from 8:00am – 3:00pm June 21 – July 29. This is a great opportunity for your child to improve his/her reading and math skills, while having fun and participating in enrichment activities, weekly field trips, and social action projects. Students who enroll in Freedom Schools will also have the opportunity to participate in 4 week soccer and flag football camps hosted by the Sanneh Foundation, that will run M-Th from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Happy Friday! This is a quick reminder that there is no school this upcoming Monday, May 31, 2021 because it is Memorial Day. We will see all students back online and in person on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Have a wonderful long weekend.
The Cityview Community School health office is committed to providing a safe and healthy school environment. As part of that commitment, certain footwear is strongly recommended to reduce the risk of slips, trips and falls resulting in personal injury.
Strongly recommended footwear
· a firm base
· good support,
· Rubber sole
· good grip.
· Closed toed
· Well fitting
Examples include sneakers, sport shoes, rubber soled Mary Janes, and Uwabaki
Strongly discouraged footwear
The following footwear are considered to be a risk factor for trips and falls
· Flip-flops or similar sandals with or without elevated heels.
· Clogs or other shoes with an elevated sole and open heel.
· Any shoe with an open heel and no strap to secure the foot.
· Shoes with an excessive high heel of one (1) inches or higher.
Your participation is essential to the success of our safety program. We rely on school Staff, students and families to demonstrate the importance of setting an example for our community.

Good afternoon Cityview families,
Can you believe that there are only 11 school days left until the end of the 2020-2021 school year. What a year it has been. We feel fortunate as a staff to have partnered with your children both in person as well as online. The last day for Minneapolis Public Schools is Friday, June 11, 2021.
Here are some important reminders:
Earliest student drop off is at 7:45 a.m.
Student pick up is 2:30 p.m. Students are learning right up to the end of the day. Please wait until 2:30 p.m. to pick up your child.
Fill out the transportation forms for the 2021-2022 school year. This can be filled on using a paper form or online
Summer school registration is now due. If you are interested in The Freedom School Summer Program offered at Cityview this summer please reach out to Iggy Showers at (612) 314-9201.
Mr. Yurecko and Ms. Nagy’s classroom celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. The program will be held outside.
5th grade celebration
Ms. Garton will be hosting a virtual celebration at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Fifth grade students that attend in person will have a celebration at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. The program will last approximately half an hour and will be held outside.
As we wrap up the year, please remember to send your child with a mask to school each and every day.
